Cinnamon Rolls

Ever since my boyfriend moved here to Australia from America two months ago we have been attempting to recreate some of the America classics such as meatloaf, burgers and fries, sweet potato casserole, fried chicken, banana pudding ect.. so this morning we had our first attempt at American breakfast. We made American hash browns, biscuits, crispy beacon, cheesy scrambled eggs and these delicious cinnamon rolls. My favourite thing to eat for breakfast while i was in America was cinnamon rolls as i couldn't believe it was acceptable to eat something so sweet and sugary and still call it breakfast. i defiantly suggest trying out this recipe they smell amazing first thing in the morning and are the perfect start to any day.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Muffins

The best thing about muffins, besides being really simple and quick to make, is that you can make them any flavour or combination of flavours you like. Some of my favourites would include, chocolate and banana, apple and cinnamon, white chocolate and raspberry and of course the classic banana and blueberry muffins. I find it best to start with a fruit, fresh, frozen or dried and then go from there. The important thing is to start with a good base recipe and then once the mixture is combined add your favourite nuts, fruit, chocolate or spice. Today i took a look in the pantry and found some dried cranberries and white chocolate pieces and the first thing that came to mind was muffins. So here is my recipe for white chocolate and Cranberry muffin, why not try your favourite flavours today!

I love there cute Donna Hay patty pans which i found at the supermarket!

Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting

So for my first cake appearance on this blog i thought i would try something i have never made before therefore i decided to bake a Red Velvet Cake. I love Red Velvet Cake but i never seem to be able to find it at a Bakery or cafe so it has been on my to make list for quite some time. Its quite a unique cake with it bright red appearance and its combination between a chocolate and butter cake. The first time i tasted Red Velvet cake was while i was in America. I feel in love with it instantly as i have always been a fan of really dense, moist cakes. I have to say my cake did not disappoint. As i was making the mixture it was quite thick and was different to my usual cake mixture. I thought i was about to have my first real cake disaster but when it came out of the oven in was light and moist and perfect.
I love this cream cheese frosting, it is the perfect finish to a moist cake and works great with carrot or banana cake.

Melting Moments

What else is there to say about these beautiful biscuits other than, they just melt in your mouth. Growing up my family called them yo-yo's based on appearance, but now i can fully appreciate the name melting moments from the taste. I love how professional these biscuits look and they would make for a perfect gift wrapped up with a bow, as shown below.
When making these biscuits its important to make sure you keep them the same size so you can match then up evenly pressed between the beautiful butter cream filling. I like to add some fresh lemon rind over the top, but icing sugar would look great also. Best served dipped into a hot cup of tea.... So check out the recipe in the dessert recipe tab above and enjoy

I Love Aprons

I first feel in love with aprons when my grandmother made me one for chistmas when i was young. My apron collection has been growing over the years, and now when i go to cook the most difficult question is not 'what am i going to cook', its 'which apron am i going to wear'. There are so many pretty designs out there at the moment so i thought i would share with you some of my favourites.
